The last time we wrote on Director Eduardo Sanchez’s SEVENTH MOON was way back in last September. Today, nearly a year later, Mr. Sanchez (who also directed THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) has finally released the official poster for the flick (up top). I must say that is one monstrous-looking moon! In case you can’t read the tagline, it says ”On the full moon of the seventh lunar month, the gates of hell open and the spirits of the dead are freed to roam among the living.” Apparently, this is an old Chinese myth, which is kind of interesting to me. I do like that poster. Do you like the plot? Look:
While honeymooning in rural China during the Hungry Ghost Festival, newlyweds Melissa and Yul find themselves stranded at night in the middle of a superstitious ritual that may be more real than folk legend.
The newlyweds are played by Amy Smart (below) and Tim Chiou. I really like how Ms. Smart is taking a big ol’ turn to “horror town” recently with MIRRORS and now this. Both flicks seem like smart, scary choices.
SEVENTH MOON was co-written by Sanchez and Jamie Nash. I’m told that a new site and a sexy trailer will be revealed in the coming weeks. As of now, the flick is eyeing a release some time in 2008.
