In recent years, there have been a lot of success stories where filmmakers were hired to direct features for studios after impressing with their work on shorts. One of those success stories was when producer Sam Raimi chose Fede Alvarez to make his feature debut with the EVIL DEAD remake after watching Alvarez's short film PANIC ATTACK! Now Raimi and his Ghost House partner Rob Tapert are producing a feature expansion of the Lucas Paulino and Ángel Torres short BEDTIME STORY, with Paulino and Torres attached to direct the film. We'll have to wait and see if this project goes as well as the EVIL DEAD remake went, but I'm on board to watch anything Raimi is involved with.

Paulino and Torres also wrote the short version of BEDTIME STORY, which had a running time of 9 minutes and was about

two young brothers, who, after hearing their Mother’s haunting bedtime story, are terrorized when it comes to life.

The BEDTIME STORY feature is set up at JS Entertainment and Starlight Media. Raimi and Tapert are producing the film alongside Craig Flores of Bread & Circuses Entertainment, with Romel Adam and Zainab Azizi overseeing the project. Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, who wrote the Raimi-produced film CRAWL, serve as executive producers.

The producers are currently searching for a screenwriter who can turn the short story told by Paulino and Torres into a story that can sustain feature length.

Based out of Spain, Paulino and Torres have done a lot of commercial work and even started their own advertising agency, El Ruso de Rocky, with Paco Rodríguez. Rodríguez will be co-producing the BEDTIME STORY feature.
