We talk Holiday Rush and zombies with Sonequa Martin-Green & Romany Malco!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

When it comes to Christmas, it appears that Netflix is going all out this year for a bit of holiday cheer. One such tale involves a DJ who must figure out what is truly important in his life, and what is he taking for granted. HOLIDAY RUSH tells the story of Rashon ‘Rush’ Williams, a local disc jockey who finds his happy life a whole lot complicated after a tragic event and losing his job. The film stars the incredible talents of Romany Malco (THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, Weeds, THINK LIKE A MAN) and Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead, Star Trek: Discovery), and the two have a ton of charisma to spare.

We recently sat down with both Romany and Sonequa, and it was one of the most enjoyable interviews I’ve ever had. The two were wonderfully charming to chat with as they opened up about taking on a film like this, and why this particular tale spoke to them. And considering it’s always a good time for zombies, Sonequa did discuss what is more terrifying; The Walking Dead or Christmas shopping. It was such an absolute pleasure chatting with these two, I still have a smile on my face at just how terrific they both were. Are you ready for a bit of merry holiday fun? Well make sure you check out Holiday Rush, streaming this Thursday on Netflix!
