T’Challa battles Killmonger in the latest Black Panther TV spot

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

With a mere three weeks to go until the release of BLACK PANTHER, it's about that time when the studio usually begins showing off far too much of their movie, but I would hope that the Ryan Coogler film still has plently of surprises in store. The latest TV spot showcases some new footage from BLACK PANTHER, namely a confrontation between T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) in their respective suits. Get your hype on. According to THR, prerelease surveys indicate that the Marvel flick is tracking to open somewhere between $100-$120 million. Quite impressive, but I wouldn't be surprised if BLACK PANTHER will wind up performing even better than that.

The official synopsis for BLACK PANTHER:

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king -and Black Panther- is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

BLACK PANTHER will hit theaters on February 16, 2018.
