We all knew Inde Navarrette would likely be signing on for a huge Marvel role following her breakout turn in Curry Barker’s Obsession. But while many of us believed she would be playing Mystique, it looks like she will instead be playing Rogue, who the film is said to largely center around. Navarrette’s casting was confirmed at D23, along with the widely expected Adam Driver, who will play the film’s villain, Mr. Sinister, while his former Girls co-star Christopher Abbott will be playing Charles Xavier. Maya Boyd will be playing Storm.

As you can see above, the rest of the cast was also confirmed, with Samara Weaving playing Emma Frost, Kit Connor as Cyclops, and of course Sadie Sink as Jean Grey. The film has a May 5th, 2028 release date, and Feige was quick to point out that the casting is not yet complete, with many important roles still to be filled.
Folks at D23 also got a sneak peek at the next Star Wars movie, Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling. While the trailer hasn’t been posted online, here’s what our man at D23, Mike Conway, had to say about it:
It opens with a young boy entering a shop and becoming fascinated by a speeder. Gosling’s Kade steps in and warns him not to touch anything. They then talk about a starfighter, which they describe as the fastest ever built. From there, we see a bike racing across the landscape, followed by Cade preparing a ship for flight. There’s also a new water-covered planet before cutting to ships launching into the sky as troopers open fire. It ends with Gosling in the cockpit, piloting his ship through the attack and making his escape while wearing a really cool jacket with a skull on the back, which reminded me of Drive.
Star Wars: Starfighter comes out May 28th, 2027!
