Silicon Valley’s Thomas Middleditch joins Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

So, like with most casting news stories, the entire story is basically in the headline. So, to reiterate, SILICON VALLEY's Thomas Middleditch has joined the cast of GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS. He will be joining Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Vera Farmiga in the Michael Dougherty (KRAMPUS) film.

Unfortunately, there's no word on who he's playing (though I'd be surprised if he's not some hacker or scientist type). However, judging by the SPOILERS after credits sequence at the end of KONG: SKULL ISLAND, Middleditch and crew will be dealing not only with Godzilla, but also Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah as well.

Now, I'm super-stoked for this particular cinematic universe. While I didn't love GODZILLA (2014), I liked a lot about it, and the lizard himself was pretty much spot-on (it was really just the humans that brought it down). And I thought KONG: SKULL ISLAND, while also not perfect, had a lot of character and fun, and was a blast in the theater. So I'm looking forward to more of these films, especially when Kong and Godzilla finally duke it out. I wonder if Middleditch will survive to witness the bout (since so far, no cast member has moved on to a sequel as of yet). I guess time will tell.

Meanwhile, you can see Middleditch in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS on March 22, 2019, but before that you can hear him as a voice in the CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS cartoon on June 2nd, 2017.
