The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack has an official release date

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

As cool as director James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is, that movie wouldn't kick nearly as much ass without the stellar soundtrack that accompanies it. Don't get me wrong, I love Gamora, Star-Lord and the rest of Marvel's a-holes as much as you do, but it was the groovy tunes of The Runaways, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, The Jackson 5, Blue Swede and 10cc that put it over the top, for me personally. In fact, after returning home from my first screening of the film, I left 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" on repeat for the remainder of the afternoon. Not only was it the first time I'd heard the dreamy track, I'd fallen head over heels for it just like Star-Lord did for Gamora on that space-way balcony.

Today, Marvel's spikey-haired visionary, James Gunn, posted the official release date for the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 soundtrack, which is set to arrive on April 28, 2017.

As of this moment, my imagination is running wild with possibilities concerning what far-out tracks we can expect to hear when this movie blasts its way into theaters. One would surmise that Gunn is aiming to exceed audiophiles' expectations with the upcoming Vol. 2 collection, and I for one cannot wait to see what gems he's managed to incorporate into the film.

Prepare yourself to get hooked on a feeling all over again when James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5, 2017.
