It's been a hot minute since we've heard anything on METHUSELAH, the story detailing the life of a 1,000 year-old being who doesn't age and has spent his time learning an extensive set of survival skills. The latest word was that Tom Cruise was on-board, and it looks like the man has found his collaborative partner in Joachim Ronning (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, KON-TIKI). Deadline reports as much, also stating that the current script, penned by Zach Dean (DEADFALL), is going through a bit of a rewrite before making it's way back to Cruise before approval.

For those of you who've had the pleasure of watching KON-TIKI, you know that Ronning can really deliver when it comes to the settings of his films. At least, that certainly looks to be the case with the trailer for DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES (of which you can see below). Cruise has always been smart about choosing directors to work with, and if Ronning is any indication, METHUSELAH will prove to be a very different kind of adventure for the man who can't not run.

Joachim Ronning's next picture, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, opens in theaters on May 26, 2017.
