Production on THOR: RAGNAROK is well underway in Australia and it's already looking like it will be the biggest THOR flick yet, and maybe, just maybe, it will give the THOR franchise a much-needed boost. The THOR films can be fun, but they definitely aren't as memorable as the ones featuring Iron Man or Captain America. THOR: RAGNAROK is looking to improve the franchise, namely by including a stand-out cast and keeping most of the action within the realms of Asgard. Tom Hiddleston will be returning as Loki, and he spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what he's been up to on the set.

It is actually a fight day tomorrow. I don’t think I’m fighting specifically him [Chris Hemsworth], however. Spoiler alert! But that’s all I will tell you. I’ve been here for 10 days. We’re really just at the beginning. I think they officially started filming just last week. It’s great. I’m having such a good time. Taika Waititi is brilliant, and his vision for his Thor film is so full of wit and humor and drama. He’s really been so attentive over the screenplay. I’m so excited. It’s a hell of a cast. It’s got quite a lineup.

One hell of a cast indeed, in addition to series veterans Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins, THOR: RAGNAROK will also see Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban joining up. Urban will be playing Scourge and he spoke with IGN about getting into shape to play the role.

There's a bit of a few hours at the gym lifting heavy things, all of that sort of stuff. The irony is that you won't actually see my body in this movie under the costume that I have, but it's important for me to get into the zone and feel [the part].

Karl Urban also elaborated on why he got involved with the film, saying that he "read a fantastic script that was action-packed and full of great characters. When I heard who was involved … and [saw] the opportunity to work with [director] Taika Waititi, who I think is one of the most brilliant directors coming through, I made the decision it was something that I wanted to be a part of. And the character is fantastic. He's got a great arc to him." Urban is still out promoting STAR TREK BEYOND, but he'll soon be shaving his head and reporting to the set, hopefully with his massive battle axe in tow.

THOR: RAGNAROK is set for a November 3, 2017 release.
