We're back with another installment in our Pop-Up Movie Facts video series, and this time the subject is, well, the godfather of all mafia flicks: Francis Ford Coppola's THE GODFATHER.

Based on the Mario Puzo novel of the same name, the film is regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made, and it won three Oscars at the 1973 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor. THE GODFATHER has influenced countless other films and television series since its release, from Martin Scorsese's GOODFELLAS to HBO's The Sopranos, and its impact on organized crime movies and TV shows can still be felt today.
