It seems this was the week to get the ball rolling on potential comic book television series, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg reportedly out shopping a small screen take on Garth Ennis' The Boys, Fox announcing that they're developing two X-Men series, and FX and creator Brian K. Vaughan adapting Y: The Last Man for TV, and now THR is reporting that Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli's horror comic Hack/Slash is also being developed as a television series.

SWORDFISH and A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD scribe Skip Woods is writing the script for the project, which has been set up at Relativity Television. Woods will also executive produce with Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord, while Daniel Alter and Geoffrey Yim will serve as as co-executive producers. According to the site, they are currently looking for a director, and that the goal is "to make it a dark and gritty show in The Walking Dead mold."

Hack/Slash "centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. However, the emotionally damaged girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with a burly protector named Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween's Michael Myers, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger."

A feature film version of the comic has been in the works/stuck in development hell for a few years, but obviously those plans have now changed. Hack/Slash fans: Who would you like to see play Cassie and Vlad?
