Idris Elba arms his family in the new trailer for Beasts of No Nation

BEASTS OF NO NATION marks the latest film written and directed by Emmy Award winner Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) that stars the ever charismatic Idris Elba. Based on the highly acclaimed novel by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala, NATION brings to life the gripping tale of Agu, a child soldier torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country. Newcomer Abraham Attah gives a stunning portrayal of Agu, while Elba dominates the screen with ease in the role of Commandant, a warlord who takes in Agu and instructs him in the ways of war. You can catch a bigger glimpse of this emotional story with the second trailer below!

What can be said of Idris Elba that hasn't already been said? The man consistently delivers performances that rival his co-stars, although I have to give props to young Abraham Attah for standing toe-to-toe with Elba. Great performances can be hard to coax from the younger actors, but Fukunaga has done just that. As far as original Netflix movies go, it looks like BEASTS is going to take things to the next level.

BEASTS OF NO NATION will hit limited theaters and Netflix on October 16, 2015.
