Now that the main piece of the SPIDER-MAN puzzle has been put into place, Sony and Marvel can go about choosing the rest of their ensemble for their join effort.  Boy, I'd sure like to be a fly (or spider) on the wall for those conversations! With Tom Holland playing a noticeably younger Peter Parker than we're used to, it only makes sense that his relatives would follow suit. Enter the absolutely gorgeous Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

Despite no comment from Sony or Marvel about this casting matter, Variety is reporting that an offer was made last week for Tomei to play Parker's aunt. It's unclear how much screen time Spider-Man will garner in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and if Aunt May would even make an appearance, but it makes sense to have Aunt May on-deck, just in case.

The idea of Spider-Man being rebooted for the third time is a little exhausting, especially considering that the initial flick hit theaters 13 years ago, but having Marvel's creative team in the mix is promising. I didn't think that we'd see Spidey mingling with the Avengers so soon, so perhaps we won't have to wait that long before the Fantastic Four or X-Men can make a few appearances. What, a guy can dream, can't he? Especially about Marisa Tomei. And no, you're NOT the only one who keeps thinking about THE WRESTLER…

You can catch Peter Parker next in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR on May 6, 2016, while his own SPIDER-MAN flick will be released on July 28, 2017.

marisa-tomeiAs far as I'm concerned, Marisa Tomei is now the star of SPIDER-MAN.
