Beverly Hills Cop 4 Brett Ratner Eddie Murphy

Bad news this morning for those of you who were pumped to see the Brett Ratner-directed fourth installment in the BEVERLY HILLS COP franchise next year. Sources tell The Wrap that Paramount has removed BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 from its release schedule, and will no longer open on March 25, 2016 as planned. This is probably for the best since a little movie called BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is also set to open on that date, and it will give screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec more time to get the script to Eddie Murphy's liking.

Here's what Murphy had to say about the script earlier this year:

They’re still trying to get that script right. I’m not doing a Beverly Hills Cop unless they have a really incredible script. I’ve read a couple things that look like they can make some paper. But I’m not doing a shitty movie just to make some paper. The shit got to be right.

Paramount hasn't issued a new release date though, so I do wonder if a fourth film will actually happen. Do you believe BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 will get made, and if so, when do you think it might hit theaters?
