Vincent D’Onofrio in talks to play the villain in The Magnificent Seven

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After playing antagonists and villains for the majority of his career, Vincent D’Onofrio is about to add another type of bad guy to his list. According to Variety, D’Onofrio is in negotiations to play the black hat in Antoine Fuqua‘s remake of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. He would join the already cast Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke.

D’Onofrio has worked consistently for decades on the big and small screen. This year alone, the large framed actor will portray Marvel villain The Kingpin in Netflix’s Daredevil series. Later this summer, he will appear opposite Chris Pratt in JURASSIC WORLD. He is best known for playing the alien foe in MEN IN BLACK as well as his breakout performance in FULL METAL JACKET. This guy is a great bad guy and I cannot wait to see him in a western.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is scripted by John Lee Hancock from a prior draft by True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto. Antoine Fuqua is set to begin production on the film this summer for a 2016 release.
