Jeremy Irons says his Alfred will be “more hands-on” in Batman V Superman

Apparently Jeremy Irons‘ Alfred Pennyworth in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE will be unlike Michael Gough and Michael Caine‘s take on Batman’s butler from the previous Batman movies, based on comments the actor made about the role while being honored at the Marrakech International Film Festival.

Although Iron says it’s “not a large role,” he also says “he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler,” and “He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted.”

I don’t think this news comes as a huge surprise to anyone (especially for those of you who have read the DC comics), but it will be interesting to see how the character will be used in the Zack Snyder film, although I highly doubt Irons’ Alfred will be throwing down with Superman in the film. However, I’m hopeful he will at least get a chance to slap a few thugs around in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE will be in theaters on March 25, 2016.
