It’s Friday night, let’s have some fun! We have the first trailer for HOME SWEET HELL, a movie I had never heard of until today. It features Patrick Wilson, Katherine Heigl, and Jordana Brewster yet somehow managed to go unnoticed. The shining star here though is Heigl, who comes off as very likable for a change; I think she needed a movie like this. It’s just a shame it’s giving off the straight-to-DVD feel.
In the movie, Brewster plays a seductive and scheming new hire for Don Champagne played by Wilson. Don used to be a used car salesman, but now he’s got it all – a beautiful home, loving marriage and his very own rugs and furniture store. Brewster’s character soon blackmails him for money by threatening to tell his wife about their fling. Here’s the thing, his wife is a bi-polar, obsessive-compulsive woman and isn’t having any it.
This looks like it could be a lot of fun; it definitely reminded me of Peter Berg’s VERY BAD THINGS with Heigl in Cameron Diaz’s role. It’s so over the top and filthy it makes me so happy for the cast. There is no word on a release date for HOME SWEET HELL; eventually it will arrive in some format or another.
