Could Adrianne Palicki go from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the big screen?

To date, we have seen some big screen characters make appearances on ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. like Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, but we have yet to see characters originating on the small screen jumping to the feature film world. That could change though and we may know who the first contender could be.

Adrianne Palicki, best known for parts on the small screen FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and the failed WONDER WOMAN pilot as well as the big screen G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, joined AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse, otherwise known as Mockingbird. On the television series, Morse is being presented as HYDRA’s head of security, but a switching of allegiances is not out of the realm of possibility. Still, it seemed a firmly small screen role despite the character becoming an Avenger in the comic books. Is there a chance we could see that from Palicki?

Here is what she told IGN.

“Absolutely – that was one of the things that was discussed when I was coming on for the part, and you know, we’ll see what happens. It’s such a nice world that we live in that crossover can happen so often now which in the past it never really did so, to see these worlds come together on the small screen and the big screen is really cool.”

I have a feeling that every AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. contract has a disclaimer that the characters could be called into duty on the big screen, but seeing as how Mockingbird is one of the more substantial characters with connections to Black Widow and Hawkeye, this may be the most realistic one we have seen. It is unlikely we will see her pop up in next summer’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but who knows what the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may hold.
