Coulson and crew return in new clip and poster for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We are just under a week away from the return of MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. featuring a bunch of new characters and a new direction for our ragtag team of agents. With the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, S.H.I.E.L.D. is forever changed and now Coulson and his crew must hunt down and stop HYDRA. This new clip and poster for the second season of the show bears the traditional logo for S.H.I.E.L.D. but a much different attitude than we have seen before.

It is hard to tell how much time has passed between seasons as this clip, which appears to be the opening teaser for the season premiere, but Skye looks like a fully trained agent now. Melinda May's hair is longer, and Coulson looks settled into his new role as S.H.I.E.L.D. director. The new addition of Lucy Lawless looks to be a good one, even if it is only in a guest star capacity.

We have said it before, AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. had an uneven first season. It finally found it's stride in the second half of it's freshman run and hopefully that consistent plotting and writing will carry over this year. As we did last year, stay tuned for weekly episode recaps for each new episode of the second season.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC on Tuesday, September 23rd.
