After the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, the characters on ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. have a lot of changes coming their way in the second season. As the ragtag remnants of the former agency fight for relevancy in the new world order, Coulson looks to be recruiting some new talent. One fan favorite character set to debut is Bobbi Morse, more commonly known as Mockingbird.

G.I. JOE: RETALIATION star and one time small screen Wonder Woman Adrianne Palicki will portray Mockingbird in the fifth episode of the upcoming season and could becoming a recurring character on the series. She joins other new additions Kyle McLachlan, Lucy Lawless, Reed Diamond, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons and Simon Kassianides. Palicki has long been touted as a potential actress for a superhero role since her Wonder Woman series never made it to air. Mockingbird seems like a good fit, a character with no superpowers who has connections to Clint Barton and could make an appearance in either a West Coast Avengers movie or a potential Black Widow/Hawkeye feature.

Many fans were left cold by the first season of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. and may have missed out on the best run of episodes that came in the second half of the season. Hopefully more will give it a chance this time around as it will most definitely have some lead up to the events of next summer’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season premieres September 23, 2014 on ABC.
