Movies today have achieved visuals that were one thought impossible. The good people behind WETA are part of the reason we are seeing some of the most miraculous images on-screen. And once again, they create serious magic with their latest, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The effects behind this fantastic film continue to impress by building a rich and intoxicating world where humans are becoming a minor footnote in a world full of Apes. And it is a sight to behold.

Recently at the junket for the film held at Crissy Field in San Francisco, we were given the opportunity to chat with WETA’s Joe Letteri and Dan Lemmon about the new film. They discussed the challenges of creating the apes in a new environment and making it all look as good as it does. Where can they go from here visually speaking? It all depends on the project and what story the filmmaker wants to tell. Thanks to these fine gentleman for talking about the great DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES which opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
