DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is right around the corner (July 11, 2014 folks) and a new poster has dropped to show audiences where things are headed.

Take a look:

RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES surprised viewers by not only mentally erasing Tim Burton‘s mediocre effort, but characterizing the apes in terrific fashion. It also delivered one hell of an action set piece in its third act on the bridge featured in the newest poster for DAWN. Ironically enough, the human characters got shafted and more often than not, were reduced to caricatures (John Lithgow was the bomb, though). Given all the actors involved, I’m really looking forward to seeing how DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES pans out. There’s some great tragic overtones prominent in the trailers, and I hope that we come to care for the humans as much as the apes this time around.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES will stop monkeying around and hit theaters on July 11, 2014.
