Buckle up. Hold on to your butts. You’re about to go on a ride in the President’s weaponized, offensive vehicle. Renny Harlin’s new film, The Beast, puts new twists on some previously explored concepts. Movies like Air Force One, White House Down and G20 put the President of the United States in predominant, action roles in Die Hard-esque situations. Samuel L. Jackson even played the President partnered with a kid, fending off bad guys in 2014’s Big Game. Now, Jackson is back in the Oval Office and he will once again fight to stay alive and save the country, but he will be doing so in a militarized presidential car called The Beast.
The Beast
Aura Entertainment has just released the crazy new trailer for The Beast with loads of action and Jackson full-on shouting his famous vulgar catchphrase, calling all the bad guys, “mothaf*ckas.” His co-star, Joel Kinnaman, even speaks for the audience when he tells him that he loves hearing him shout it. That’s the kind of insane time you’re looking to be in for with The Beast.
Joining Jackson and Kinnaman is co-star Guy Burnet. The official synopsis reads, “When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the U.S., the president uncovers the extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities in order to save his life and America.”
Harlin directs from a script written by Umair Aleem. Aleem executive produces with Ben Ruffman and Peter Berg, alongside Gianni Benvenuto, Christian Jüptner, Stephen Morris, Tiarne Elise Mitchell, Alexis Garcia, Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welti, Elan Gale and James Madigan. Meanwhile,
Keith Kjarval, Wayne Marc Godfrey, Nicki Cortese, Rob Van Norden, John Logan Pierson and Marcos Flores are serving as the producers on the film.
The Long Kiss Goodnight
Harlin and Jackson had worked together on one of Jackson’s favorite films, The Long Kiss Goodnight. That film is one that Jackson had always wanted to come back and do a sequel to after having so much fun with co-star Geena Davis. Davis recently revealed that The Long Kiss Goodnight was also one of her favorites and is game to return, “It’s my favorite too. I’m supposed to say Thelma & Louise because that movie is irreplaceable, but I have to say, I had so much fun with Sam and we’ve always wished that we could do a sequel.”
