Watch the X-Men: DOFP teaser shown during The Amazing Spider-man 2 credits

After all the hoopla surrounding the stinger sequence playing during the credits for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 showcasing a scene from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, we now have a look at the scene in question. Focused on Mystique, the scene has been shown partially in trailers and photos released to date.

What the full minute clip does give us is a deeper look at Mystique going rogue (pun intended) to continue her plan that will eventually need to be foiled by a time-traveling Wolverine. Also featured in this clip are looks at Toad, Havok, and a very young William Stryker (previously played by Danny Huston and Brian Cox). Much like the previously released clip of Mystique kicking ass at a meeting with Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), this scene is all about Jennifer Lawrence doing some serious acrobatic fighting.

I am gaining more and more confidence in Bryan Singer‘s direction with X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST as each clip proves that the FIRST CLASS cast is still the primary focus of the film with only Wolverine playing a major part in the proceedings. The rest of the returning actors from the original trilogy are serving as cameos and window-dressing while keeping the continuity in line. That makes the feat of getting all of those actors back all the more impressive.

Here’s hoping the full film is as good as these clips have been. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST opens in theaters on May 23rd.
