Exclusive Interview: Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb talk Amazing Spider-Man 2

JoBloJoBlo

Two years ago, Sony took a massive gamble and rebooted their biggest franchise with a young star who wasn’t a household name and a director who had no big-budget movie experience. For all intents and purposes, things worked out: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN snatched up $752 million worldwide, re-introducing the globe to a friendly neighborhood web-slinger and kick-starting an ambitious new comic-book universe.

Now, that untested director, Marc Webb, and rising star, Andrew Garfield, are back with some experience under the belt with THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. A sequel to a big hit must always raise the stakes, and it’s safe to say they’ve accomplished that with their Spidey sequel. I sat down with Garfield and Webb to talk about what they had wanted to explore with ASM2, their experience with feedback from the fans, and whether or not Spider-Man might be getting some super-hero help in the future.
