Prepare for the sheer insanity that is the trailer for WolfCop

Sometimes I wish I was of age back in the days of grindhouse cinema where any wacky story or plot could have become a low budget movie. Thanks to several boutique companies like Anchor Bay Entertainment and Blue Underground, we have gotten a chance to relive these classic B-movies on DVD and Blu-ray. And now, thanks to the boom in on demand entertainment and websites like Kickstarter, even more insane stuff is coming our way. While they may not all be good movies, I would rather see these than some of the junk that hits theaters.

The latest example of this is the movie WOLFCOP. Just as the title implies, it follows a police officer who is also a werewolf. Instead of taking itself seriously, WOLFCOP looks like a ridiculous exercise in cheese. Bad one-liners abound as our hero goes on a gory rampage that just looks completely hilarious.

It’s not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn. Crime scenes seem oddly familiar. Lou’s senses are heightened, and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf. WOLFCOP is one cop’s quest to become a better man… one transformation at a time.

We in the U.S. may not get to experience WOLFCOP when it hits theaters on June 6th but Canadians can prepare to enjoy themselves immensely. The movie seems destined for cult status and I would be shocked if it didn’t find some sort of VOD or limited release in the States sometime sooner rather than later.
