Hugh Jackman breaks down the latest X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has a lot to live up to now that CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has set the gold standard for Marvel movies. While the Fox mutant franchise has never worried about being realistic, Bryan Singer has certainly raised the bar with a massive cast, massive scope, and an already announced sequel that will take the franchise into unforeseen territory.

The key to the X-MEN series has always been Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine, both a fan favorite and the only character to be spun-off into a solo film. Jackman himself is a comic fan and has always recognized the importance of getting the character right and has not been shy about where the movies have slacked (ahem, X-MEN ORIGINS). Now, he has given a very cool breakdown of the latest X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST trailer over on Digital Spy. Unlike a lot of actors who don’t know their source material outside of the screenplay, Jackman goes into some good background on key moments in the film.

If this doesn’t get you even more excited for the movie, I don’t know what will. Check out the breakdown below. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST hits theaters on May 23rd.
