Before we get to the news about Paul Walker's brother Cody possibly taking over the late actor's role in FAST AND FURIOUS 7, remember that this is nothing more than a rumor at this time, and it was reported by The Daily Mail, who isn't always the most reliable source of information.

The site has learned from a source that Universal is considering using Cody Walker as Paul Walker's replacement in FAST AND FURIOUS 7.

"They soon realized they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and that's when they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody."

The 25 year old movie stuntman looks quite a bit like his older brother (see the image below with their other brother Caleb), and the source says the studio could make him look more like Paul Walker with the use of CGI, and it wouldn't be that noticeable if scenes with Cody Walker were shot from a distance or from behind.

"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on."

The Daily Mail says Cody Walker is set to take his brother's part in FAST AND FURIOUS 7, but their source says he hasn't agreed to it yet, and right now the focus has been on dealing with Paul Walker's tragic death.

"If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honor his brother's memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving."

Last week it was reported that writer Chris Morgan might retire Paul Walker's character in the next film. The studio has been working with the Walker family on how to give Paul Walker an appropriate exit from their movie, and if Cody Walker does take the role, it could make that plan a little more feasible. In my opinion, if the family is OK with it, and Cody Walker wants to honor his brother's memory by appearing in the film, then this might be the best option for Universal.
