Harrison Ford still not sure he will be a part of Star Wars: Episode VII, up for Indiana Jones 5

As we await official confirmation that Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will return for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, good old Harrison Ford still refuses to commit one way or another. The man who immortalized the scruffy looking nerf-herder Han Solo seemed like a done deal to appear in J.J. Abrams‘ sequel to the beloved classic trilogy of films.

Appearing on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show, Ford said he has not made a final decision as to whether he will be a part of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII or not. To date, Ford has been quiet about involvement in the new movies while George Lucas spilled that he felt the actors would all be returning to their roles. Ford has previously said that he wanted to have Han Solo killed off rather than return to the STAR WARS universe. His recent resurgence via movies like ENDER’S GAME and a cameo in ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES is certainly building him back up in the public eye, so if not STAR WARS, which character does he want to revisit? How about Dr. Jones.

“I would do it in a New York minute, yes,’ Ford revealed. ‘I don’t think there is any barrier to Indiana Jones being an old fart. I’m old enough that we don’t need (Sean) Connery any more. I’m old enough to play my own father!”

Ford may have soured some fans with KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, but I would love to see him don the fedora again. We already heard he has spoken with Ridley Scott about coming back for a BLADE RUNNER sequel, why not complete the trifecta and reprise Jones and Solo as well?

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is slated for a 2015 release.
