I was looking forward to Denis Villeneuve's PRISONERS after seeing the trailers for it, but it wasn't until Bumbray's TIFF review that it became a "can't miss." I love a film with balls that isn't afraid to take risks and expose the ugliness in pursuit of righteousness and PRISONERS sounds like it lives and breathes in that arena. Today, we have a peek at five clips from the film, which only serve to whet my appetite for what could potentially be THE movie to see this fall. There's a lot of contenders out there, but so far this one is at the top of the list. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal both look to be in top form with a supporting cast that regularly slays it, including Paul Dano, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, and Melissa Leo.

Here's the clips:

Villeneuve also debuted his thriller ENEMY at TIFF this year (our review here) to solid reviews and the one-two punch may be enough to push him into the A-list. It's always good to see emerging filmmakers make that leap as it makes for potentially exciting projects to follow and hopefully Villeneuve stays on that course. He's off to a good start, that's for sure.

PRISONERS opens on September 20, 2013.
