We have had quite a bit of confirm and deny played on us surrounding whether or not the original STAR WARS cast would be returning for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. George Lucas all but confirmed it, but we still have seen no press releases touting that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, or Carrie Fisher would be starring in the new film. It seems like it is a lock, but you never know with Hollywood.

Carrie Fisher has been very outspoken about her life and battle with bipolar disorder and has written an award winning book and stage performance about it, some of which touches on her time making STAR WARS. Obviously she is going to say something funny when asked about all of the rumors flying around these days, so here is what she had to say about her involvement with STAR WARS: EPISODE VII to MovieWeb.

“I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before. I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”

Now, I don’t want to be a dick, but it is going to take a lot more than a trainer to get Fisher, Hamill, and Ford back to their appearances as Han, Luke, and Leia. Fisher has aged the poorest of the three, so I don’t think anyone is expecting her to don the metal bikini she wore from RETURN OF THE JEDI. Speaking of JEDI…

“What was his name? Jabba the Hut? I always get his name mixed up with other boyfriends. Oh God, I loved doing that. You know, they ridiculously asked me if I wanted a stunt double to kill Jabba the Hut. Can you imagine? I got to saw that neck off, it was really, really fun and one of the highlights of my career.”

Nice. Even if Fisher has to don robes like Mon Mothma, I think audiences will accept that a significant amount of time has passed since the original trilogy. There is no need to subject these three to a makeshift THE BIGGEST LOSER: STAR WARS EDITION.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII opens in 2015.
