Bryan Singer revealed another detail from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST today on his Twitter feed. This time he gave us our first look at the newly redesigned Beast. Previously played by Kelsey Grammar in X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND and by Nicholas Hoult in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, Beast has been presented both as a very animal in appearance and somewhat human. This new version looks closer to the LAST STAND take on the blue mutant.

The tweet from Singer was accompanied by a quote: “Many a monster wears the form of a man; it is better of the two to have the heart of a man & the form of a monster” Take a look at the new Beast:

I am a little confused by this image as it doesn’t really look like Hoult’s face, but this is a blurry Twitter image after all. This raises some concerns that Singer is trying to turn X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST into a sequel to one of his X-MEN films instead of a true sequel to FIRST CLASS. I could be wrong, but Beast looks nothing like his FIRST CLASS self.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Daniel Cudmore, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart will open everywhere on July 18, 2014.
