Another day, another new look at IRON MAN 3. This new TV spot gives us a lot of action in a short amount of time, plus a look at one of the Mandarin’s soldiers. These soldiers appear to be under the influence of the Extremis serum. I believe this is our first scene from the film of Extremis in action.
The spot showcases some new Tony Stark one-liners which Robert Downey Jr. delivers with his usual snark. We also get a lot of scenes of Tony sans the Iron Man armor fighting bad guys. One drawback I have had with the first two movies and THE AVENGERS is that we rarely see Tony Stark out of the armor. Our only link was the few moments of Downey entering or exiting the armor, with his helmet off, or within the suit. Shane Black and Downey look to have taken a much more human look at the character and delves into the man within the superhero.
IRON MAN 3 is looking more and more like the best Marvel film yet and, I hate to say it, it is probably because Jon Favreau has stepped aside. He was instrumental in creating this new superhero universe, but I think some fresh blood was needed to bring this movie to us.
