Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (THE BOURNE IDENTITY, FASTER, THE THING, BULLET TO THE HEAD) is one of those actors whose presence in a project will almost flat-out guarantee that I see it. His Mr. Eko was one of the best characters on “Lost,” and no matter what Akinnuoye-Agbaje does he always brings a life, energy, and gruff charm to his performance that I cannot help but be taken in by.

And true to tradition, that fact the he’s now in THOR: THE DARK WORLD has bumped that movie up very high indeed on my list of most anticipated.  Not to mention the fact that he’s playing a villain in the movie.  Two villains, to be precise, named Algrim the Strong and Kurse.  By way of a small summary, which you can find in expanded detail here for your reading pleasure: “in the comic books, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he’s betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.”

THOR: THE DARK WORLD is currently filming in London – catch it like Mjolnir next year on November 8th, 2013.
