Last night at the movies they played the trailer for LAWLESS. As soon as the title card hit the screen at the end, I heard someone yell “badass!” from the back row. Yeah, that about sums up my feelings on the movie as well.

MTV Movies Blog revealed this exclusive look at the handguns from LAWLESS today as part of a six week rollout of new art for the film. If the next five are as cool as this one, I am loving the marketing direction of the film.

Plot: LAWLESS is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant’s family in his novel “The Wettest County In The World”, the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation’s most notorious crime wave.

If director John Hillcoat is even able to make LAWLESS half as good as THE PROPOSITION, this movie will be fantastic. Tom Hardy is badass, Guy Pearce is badass, Gary Oldman is badass. LAWLESS is all badass, all the time.

LAWLESS opens in theaters on August 29th.
