With the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES reboot stalled for a bit, you can get your “heroes in a half-shell” fix via Nickelodeon as they are about to debut their new Turtles series on the network this Fall. The gang’s all back (although no official looks at Splinter, April O’ Neil, or Casey Jones) and this seems to have the flavor of the characters we grew up with.
Cowabunga and stuff:
Executive producer Ciro Neili, who explained how this iteration of the characters fits into the Turtles universe. “I tried to boil it down and get to really what’s at the core of it,” Neili says, “which is this sense of brothers and camaraderie. Everything grew out of that. It’s like a band. You want a Beatles thing.”
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES will premiere on Nickelodeon this Fall.
