A new writer finds himself trapped by The Twilight Zone

It was reported last year that Matt Reeves (LET ME IN, CLOVERFIELD) had signed on to direct THE TWILIGHT ZONE, a new film version that will streamline several episodes into a single narrative, from a script by Jason Rothenberg

That script was then revised by Anthony Peckham (SHERLOCK HOLMES, INVICTUS), but for whatever reason Warner Bros. has passed the baton on to one Joby Harold (AWAKE).  Word is that Warner Bros. has been looking for “a sci-fi-friendly scribe to get the script into shooting shape, as the studio views the pic as a potential tentpole,” which fits as Harold currently has ALL YOU NEED IS KILL in active pre-production (starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt) with Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) set to direct.

Hopefully we’ll be hearing more from THE TWILIGHT ZONE soon.
