This article may contain a spoiler for PROMETHEUS. Turn back now if you don’t want to have even the slightest smidgen information about the movie. You have been warned.

Despite Ridley Scott’s constant urging that PROMETHEUS is not a prequel to ALIEN, we continue to get links to that classic film. Aside from the Space Jockey, Weyland Corporation, the teaser trailer style and sound effects, and the input from H.R. Giger, the movie appears to be its own monster entirely.

So it does not come as a huge surprise that Lance Henriksen will be appearing in a cameo role in PROMETHEUS. The man who played Bishop in ALIENS and Charles Bishop Weyland in ALIEN VS PREDATOR will be making his first appearance in a Ridley Scott film. He had this to say regarding the role.

“Somebody through the grapevine, I heard that they’re using a digital version of me to describe history,” Henriksen said while promoting the TV series “TRON Uprising” in which he voices the character Tesler.

No word on whether the Henriksen footage will be as Bishop, Weyland or yet another new character. The actor himself is waiting to see the footage, as are his representatives.

“Very interesting, I can’t wait to see it,” Henriksen said. “Neither can my manager.”

Sounds like some kind of stock footage appearance, but will it be as the android or the precursor to Guy Pearce’s Peter Weyland? I would hesitate to think Sir Ridley would link his films to the dreck that was ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, but you never know.

PROMETHEUS lands in 32 days.
