Warner Bros to open new “The Making of Harry Potter” attraction in England

The Harry Potter series may have finished, but that doesn’t mean that the moneymaking should stop. Or be constrained to a single continent for that matter – while “The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter” theme park may still be in Orlando, Florida, “The Warner Bros Studio Tour London – The Making Of Harry Potter” opened this past Saturday at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England. Which, for film fans, is actually really kind of cool since it allows you to get an up close and personal look at how this fantastic series was shot via the three hour partially-guided tour.

Physical work on the attraction began in earnest immediately after HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 2 wrapped, when Warner Bros bought Leavesden Studios for $100 million and began to build upon and expand the studio.  Two new stages, known as “J” and “K,” spanning 150,000 square feet have been built in order to house the attraction, full of awfully nifty things like sets from the movies, a green screen demonstration, and a creature effects workshop.

Tickets currently go for £28 per adult and £21 per child, and hopefully they won’t get any pricier when new movies are eventually added to the it’s-sort-of-a-museum-but-don’t-call-it-that Studio Tour.  Seeing as how Warner Bros. now owns Leavesden, that leaves the door open for all sorts of other properties to have a presence as well (SHERLOCK HOLMES seems like a distinct possibility to me).

So what do you think? Worth it? Not? And are there any UK readers out there who plan to check this out in the coming days?
