Another day, another tidbit on STAR TREK 2.
Now that Benicio Del Toro is out, J.J. Abrams is looking to replace him rather quickly. Looks like Edgar Ramirez (CARLOS) is the current frontrunner for the role of the villain. Within the next couple of days he will be testing for the role via Skype.
However, if his schedule is not open then he is out. Abrams apparently wants someone who can fully commit to the film for six months from January to June.
Another actor up for the role is Jordi Mollà. I remember him best as Diego from BLOW. I’d really rather have him as the villain.
STAR TREK 2 is set to release May 17, 2013.
