It’s not unusual for one male star to step out of a lead role and another one step in. Well, get this–Colin Farrell has stepped down from David Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS and Robert Pattinson is taking his place.
Wait, say what?
It’s true. As soon as THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN wraps Pattinson will star opposite Marion Cotillard and possibly Paul Giamatti in Cronenberg’s film. COSMOPOLIS is adapted from the Don DeLillo that centers on, “A financial wunderkind, Packer risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a tumultuous day. His deed puts him in the crosshairs for assassination in a drama that is a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis. Most of the scenes in the book take place in the limousine that transports Packer from place to place.”
Why did Farrell drop out? The actor favored one project over the other for some unknown reason. Instead of doing the Cronenberg film, Farrell is going to take on TOTAL RECALL for helmer Len Wiseman. Is this a good move or a bad move? Maybe he really likes TOTAL RECALL.
