In some sort of modern art experiment, the New York Times has filmed a number of shorts that feature famous actors, acting. Sounds simple enough, but it’s stranger than you think.
It straddles a line between beautiful and bizarre, and six videos in and I’m still not sure what to think. We have Javier Bardem assaulting dishware, James Franco charming himself in the mirror, Vincent Cassel dancing with a chair, Robert Duvall shaving, Natalie Portman stripping (not as hot as it sounds) and many more.
I can’t figure out how to embed any of these, so you’ll just have to go to the site and watch them all for yourself. So far my favorite one has been trying to read Matt Damon’s lips as he goes off the handle in his short. I’ve gotten “F*cking cocksucker, I will punch you in the f*cking face!” Any further translation would be welcome.
