Steve Carell is the son of a rockstar in Imagine

Steve Carell’s next role? Son of a rockstar.

Writer of CARS, BOLT, and the upcoming TANGLED, Dan Fogelman will be taking on his first job as director. He also gets to direct his very own script titled, IMAGINE.

Steve Carell will star as the son of a rockstar. The film is about, “a musician in his 60s who tries to live his life differently after reading an old letter written to him by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The rocker tries to track down and reconnect with his biological son, whom he has never met.” Fogelman wrote the script for another film that Carell is starring in called CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE which is due out April 2011. That film also stars Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Kevin Bacon, and Marisa Tomei.

I’d like more dramatic Carell myself. He was excellent in LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. I also enjoy his softer side as shown in DAN IN REAL LIFE. CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE puts him in a similar sort of role as Father who is dealing with a failing marriage while trying to build a stable relationship with his children.
