COMIC CON: The Avengers assemble!

Last Updated on February 17, 2026

We’ll have full details from the Marvel Studios panel very soon but first a little tease from Comic-Con! As was widely expected, Marvel closed out the panel (which had featured THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA) with a surprise teaser for THE AVENGERS. It was basically a shadow of the AVENGERS logo and a voiceover that talked about the world’s greatest heroes teaming to battle a foe that no one person could ever stop. It was maybe less than 30 seconds but as soon as it was over, they introduced Sam Jackson to the stage.

He then went on to introduce Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and then, the King of Comic-Con, Robert Downey, Jr. Downey to the mic, said that he saw INCEPTION and thought how it was one of the most ambitious films he had ever seen. Then he though to himself, wait…THE AVENGERS is one of the most ambitious films ever! He went on to introduce the newest members of the team, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Joss Whedon as writer/director.

Whedon spoke quickly about the film saying he had a dream ever since he was a little boy and being able to make THE AVENGERS with that cast, was SO much better than that dream. He said he’s worried he’s going to screw it up but he’s going to do his best to make it awesome. And that was about it. We all kinda knew it was coming but I have to admit it WAS cool seeing them all there on stage…
