Captain Jack gets a sidekick in On Stranger Tides

I’m going to be skeptical about PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGE TIDES until after the credits roll, but I have to admit it’s assembling quite a cast thus far with Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane joining Johnny Depp in the film.

But now Variety is reporting another actor has joined the ensemble, though one whose name you might not recognize off the bat. Stephen Graham will be a supporting character to Depp’s Sparrow. “He’ll portray Scram, a Machiavellian pirate in Disney’s fourth installment of the franchise in which Sparrow seeks out the fountain of youth.”

You probably best remember Graham as Tommy from SNATCH, but recently he worked with Depp in PUBLIC ENEMIES and it appears the actor probably put in a good word for him to land this role. The film comes out in about a year, and though I can’t say I have high hopes, at least the general outline of the thing is starting to look a little bit promising.
