So far, GREEN LANTERN has rounded up a solid supporting cast that includes Tim Robbins, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong.

Now add sexy elder Angela Bassett to the list, bringing her inherent authority presence to the production to play Amanda Waller. Or at least a significantly more svelte version of the beefy DC Universe character, a government official in charge of Metahuman Affairs.

Is this WB’s attempt to connect their upcoming superhero movies? The Waller character could theoretically be the Nick Fury-ish orchestrator who rounds up the heroes for a potential JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. Well, maybe they can at least use her for a SUICIDE SQUAD movie…

GREEN LANTERN is currently underway, with director Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) filming emerald ringbearer Ryan Reynolds.
