Jason Statham and Ben Foster shoot people in the promo for The Mechanic remake

Jason Statham may still have a way to go before he racks up the career cinematic body count of Charles Bronson, but he’s using a remake of one of Chuck’s movies to help get there.

Judging by this new promo/international sales trailer, the “re-imagining” of THE MECHANIC seems to keep only the basic premise of the 1972 original: an expert hitman takes on an apprentice, and ultimately has to deal with betrayal by his employers and his student.

Ben Foster steps in to the Jan-Michael Vincent role, with Simon West (CON AIR) directing the carnage.
