Terrence Malick doesn’t make very many films. In fact, in a directing career that dates back to 1969, he has only released five movies (the sixth, TREE OF LIFE, is supposedly coming some time this year). So when Malick does decide to step behind the camera for one of his films, he usually assembles a pretty impressive cast. That will definitely be the case this fall when he directs an untitled love story starring Christian Bale, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem and Olga Kurylenko.
Pretty much nothing is known about the film at this point other than it will begin shooting this fall and that it’s a love story. Who’s the love between? Whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be worth seeing. We’ve been waiting patiently for TREE OF LIFE since it began filming in early 2008 and while it has been rumored to be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival this year, one can never be sure.
Christian Bale recently wrapped filming on THE FIGHTER with Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams and doesn’t have any firm projects set between now and when Malick’s project would begin. Same goes for McAdams who will see MORNING GLORY hit theaters this year but hasn’t a project on her schedule to follow that up with.
