Vaughn & Ron Howard

JoBloJoBlo

Will Vince Vaughn’s fidgety motormouth schtick be more entertaining if presented by an Oscar-winning director?

We’re gonna find out, since Ron Howard is teaming with Vaughn for an untitled “dramedy” about infidelity and why it’s apparently problematic.

The story, dreamed up by Howard’s manga-haired producing partner Brian Grazer, “follows a man who learns that his best friend’s wife is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge.”

The script comes from Allan Loeb, who also wrote WALL STREET 2: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS (which, like the current economy, presumably won’t be all that funny).

Howard made some terrific comedies back in the day (SPLASH, NIGHT SHIFT, GUNG HO, PARENTHOOD), so maybe his funny bone is aching after all the Vatican conspiracies.
