Potentially big news for SPIDER-MAN 4, depending on whether or not you believe actors will flat out lie to keep a film’s secret. At a recent showing of TRICK ‘R TREAT with writer Michael Dougherty, Dylan Baker confirmed that yes, he would reprise his role as Dr. Curt Connors in the new film. But in what capacity?
When Dougherty ribbed him about “just appearing in the background” Baker said that, basically, that’s what he’d be doing. It was unclear if they were being truthful or if, in fact, Dr. Connors would become supervillain The Lizard in this fourth entry in the film series. During their riffing, Dougherty used the phrase “cocktease for another year” as to whether or not we’d see The Lizard.
So what do you think, is he lying or being up front about his role? Keep in mind that there is supposed to be at LEAST one more installment of SPIDER-MAN after 4, so I don’t really see the harm in pushing the Lizard back until then, if Raimi’s got a different villain idea up his sleeve. But if not Lizard, then who?
I don’t think I could handle Electro/Mysterio/Shocker/Hydro-man/Morbius. That leaves uh, Black Cat and Vulture? Oooh, Vulture, I haven’t even thought about him…
